Chapter 3: Huts on the Beach Ryan Bockmier simon

Dear Diary

First order of business I think it is very necessary that we get shelter for the littluns. They are scared of the creepers and think they are snakes so my project right now is to help Ralph with these while everyone else does nothing. Like I was saying the hunters aren’t hunting the big ones aren’t helping like they should be, they should be helping us with the shelters. Although the shelters aren’t the important things like food or water which are and I think that we should defiantly find a sustainable source of both to be able to live, the shelters do rank high up there though. Though I sometimes don’t make sense I think I am a very powerful source on this island I am in fact the only one who helped Ralph with the shelters this means I am industrious. Another thing on my mind is if we don’t get rescued soon will it all fall apart and we will end up killing each other. Because Ralph and jack were going at it (I overheard) that’s my prediction. All of these things are the reasons why I went up on top of the mountain just to think alone for a little bit and just reflect on the days events.

CHAPTER 2: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN

Dear Diary

It is still the first day on the island we have hopes of being rescued but you never know. I am still in charge of the choir yes it is me Jack. I think this island is a cool place there are trees and a platform for group meetings plus there are pigs to eat! I think the beasties are just the kid’s minds playing with them. I think they think there are just snakes. I am not afraid of them at al I am just like whatever. Our plan right now to get rescued is to start a signal fire this way when boats come they will see the smoke. This is a very good method and I think it will work well. At first we had no way to start the fire it was sort of embarrassing really but then piggy came up and I saw his specs. I thought that we could use them so I told Ralph to take them and start it and he did. But then while we were having a discussion the embers flew and lit the whole other side of the island on fire. This although cool brought us our first death sadly as the poor kid who had the thing on his face was burned to death. Although I could have prevented the boys death I think I am different because I am not afraid to kill something every once in a while and I am not scared of anything. When I go to bed at night I am thinking about fate and how it can have strange effects. Then I realize that things happen for a reason and I should just respect that.

CHAPTER 1: THE SOUND OF THE SHELL

Dear Diary

I have had a confusing first day on this island. The setting is very pretty and full of glamour. The coral is pink and pretty the beaches are full of sand. Plus there is a scar from when the plane hit the island. I got here because of the big war. Our plane got shot down by Germans. If you don’t know by now my name is Ralph the first kid I have met is piggy I am sure that isn’t his real name but whatever. I have also met this puzzling kid named jack who is the head boy in the choir. There are no adults on the island either because there was only the pilot and we can’t find him he is probably dead. We also found a conch shell that symbolizes order through out all of the children whoever holds it has all attention and peace. After being assigned leader I had jack be in charge of the choir because he is in fact the leader of them he made them the hunters. I think they will do fine as hunters. I can be firm and controlling but at the same time I can be good hearted. What sets me apart is that I blew the conch and the kids respect me for that reason.
